Ingredients

  • For the Salmon:
  • 4 salmon fillets (6 oz each)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
  • 2 teaspoons lemon zest
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1 teaspoon dried parsley (or fresh)
  • ½ teaspoon salt (adjust to taste)
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional for spice)
  • Lemon slices (for grilling and garnish)
  • Fresh parsley or dill for garnish

Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Marinade

  1. In a small bowl, mix olive oil, lemon juice, lemon zest, garlic, oregano, thyme, parsley, salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes.
  2. Whisk well to combine.

Step 2: Marinate the Salmon

  1. Place the salmon fillets in a shallow dish or ziplock bag.
  2. Pour the marinade over the salmon, ensuring each fillet is well coated.
  3. Cover and let it marinate in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes (or up to 2 hours for deeper flavor).

Step 3: Grill the Salmon

  1. Preheat the grill to medium-high heat (375-400°F / 190-200°C).
  2. Lightly oil the grill grates to prevent sticking.
  3. Place the salmon skin-side down and grill for 4-5 minutes per side, or until the salmon easily flakes with a fork.
  4. Add lemon slices to the grill for extra flavor and garnish.

Alternative Cooking Method: Stovetop

  1. Heat a grill pan or skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. Cook the salmon for 4-5 minutes per side, flipping carefully with a spatula.

Step 4: Serve and Enjoy

  1. Remove salmon from the grill and let it rest for a minute.
  2. Garnish with fresh parsley or dill and serve with grilled lemon slices.
  3. Pair with roasted vegetables, rice, or a fresh salad for a complete meal!
